Control container depot operations from the gate to the invoice
CODEXA | CDMS records every container movement, from appointment, gate, survey, washing and repair through to billing, in one system shared by the office team and field staff.
Made for the people who run the operation
Empty-container depots, off-dock container yards and container repair workshops. Used by gate clerks, surveyors, handling-equipment operators, washing and repair teams, billing staff and depot managers.
- EIRs and gate records are kept on paper, then retyped.
- Damage surveys and repair-estimate approvals take time and are hard to trace.
- Container location and status in the yard are not visible in real time.
- Invoices to shipping lines or lessors do not always match the activity that actually happened.
Organised by process, not by feature
Gate and appointment
Truck arrival slots, gate checks and digital EIRs. Container numbers are validated with the ISO 6346 check digit, so typing errors are caught at the start.
Lift-on, lift-off and yard
Container placement and retrieval are recorded per slot, with task queues for equipment operators. One operator and one unit handle one task at a time.
Survey, washing and repair
Damage surveys with photos from the phone, repair estimates submitted for approval, work orders and quality checks. The system separates surveyor from validator and technician from QC inspector.
Holds and exceptions
Holds from authorities or container owners, an exception queue and a control tower for anything that needs attention now.
Billing and payment
One billing path: recorded activity becomes a charge at the contract rate, then an invoice. Corrections go through an adjustment or credit note, never by editing data.
Reports and monitoring
Containers in the depot, daily activity and documents you can download as PDF or Word.

Roles and devices
Desktop for planning, approvals, billing, master data and reports. Android for lift-on/off, survey, washing, repair, scanning, stock counts and task queues, designed to keep working without signal and sync when connected again.
Control and audit
Approvals with a reason and extra verification, maker ≠ checker, segregation of duties between roles, and an audit trail for every change.
Integration
Connects with CODEXA | TMS & FMS (truck trips), FFS (container status) and BI Analytics (depot activity and revenue). Integration with shipping-line, lessor or finance systems is designed per implementation through API, EDI or file.
What changes in your operation
- Gate and survey data are captured once, at the source.
- Every container’s status is visible at any time.
- Repair and exception decisions are recorded and traceable.
- Invoices come from activity that actually happened.
A sensible first step
A common first step is gate-in and gate-out with digital EIRs. The results are visible straight away and lay the data foundation for survey and billing. Next: survey and repair, then billing.
Questions about CODEXA | CDMS
Do field staff need a constant signal?
No. The Android app is designed to keep working without signal and to sync data when the connection returns.
Can rates differ by customer?
Yes. Contract rates take precedence, and rate changes go through maker-checker.
Do we have to use every module at once?
No. Modules are switched on by phase, starting with the most pressing process.
